Science Night in Vienna

In Vienna every other year one evening in spring is titled "Lange Nacht der Forschung" (Science Night). Various departments from the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the University of Vienna and other universities open their doors and present their research to the public. With the Institute for Medieval Studies from the ÖAW, HistoGenes has been present at these events since its beginning. We provide age-appropriate and interactive materials to introduce visitors to the Avars, from grave goods and ceramic pots to reproductions of glass beads.
